The Minister for Public Enterprises, Hon Joseph Cudjoe, yesterday on Tuesday 13th December, 2022, launched the National Code for Corporate Governance on behalf of the Vice President, H.E Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
In his speech, the Minister indicated that for the first time, the country has a unified corporate governance code that harmonises the various industry and sector- specific governance codes.
“This is intended to streamline national corporate governance practices and promote widespread adoption of same across all Entities operating in both public and private sectors of the economy.
The National Corporate Governance Code was birthed by the Institute of Directors to serve as a blueprint to streamline the governance in corporate entities in the country.
The vice President suggested to the IoD Ghana to consider incorporating good corporate Governance code into the curricula of Ghana’s educational institutions, especially universities and higher education institutions by working closely with the Ministries of Education and Public Enterprises as part of the ongoing Directors’ Bill
