Overview
In 2019, a major restructuring of the governance architecture of Public Enterprises was initiated that culminated in the promulgation of the State Interests and Governance Authority Act 2019, Act 990.
This led to the establishment of the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA) and subsequently Public Enterprises Secretariat (PES) with a substantive Minister for Public Enterprises. This Act brought all entities in which the state has interest under the oversight of SIGA.
